Relativism of Facts
Satan is a Liar. And Jesus Christ is the Lord. Repent and be saved. Yeah, I know you’ve heard it before. But have you ever heard it from the antichrist before?
I am writing this post in the interest of warning people. I’m not sure there is any point to it. I suspect that most people don’t take talk of Satan very seriously. Nevertheless, I’m going to give this a go as best I can.
I am convinced Satan is trying to spread chaos. One tool he has at his disposal is relativism of facts. Basically, I am convinced that, if you and I were both looking at the same set of objects – say a collection of rocks – I could see two rocks, and you could see three.
And I don’t mean that there are really three rocks and I only see two because one of them is obscured.
I mean there are two rocks existing for me. And there are three rocks existing for you. I know it makes your brain hurt, but courtesy of Satan, I think reality embodies this truly insane form of relativism. But you have to remember that Satan is subtle. He’s not going to do big obvious things like the rock example. He’ll be subtle and play around the edges.
A conservative reporter reads a report and learns that Florida is “26th” out of 50 states in deaths from Covid. A liberal reporter reads the exact same report and learns that Florida is “6th” out of 50 states in deaths from Covid. Exact same report. Two different sets of facts dependent upon the observers.
When the liberal reporter and the conservative reporter try to discuss the matter, they’ll start arguing because their facts don’t agree. They will each be convinced the other is lying. Tensions will increase.
Who is responsible?
Satan. He’s manipulating the facts. Yeah, I know. You don’t believe me. But I have to say something. Of course, I think I’ve said all this in an earlier post, but I figured it was important enough to repeat.
Can I prove any of this? No. I have no idea how to even begin to attempt such. Also, I am aware that even if the “facts” weren’t relativised like this, there would be disagreements because humans make mistakes when reading, etc…
However, the polarization of the U.S. is getting worse and worse. And I think Satan is the ultimate cause.
