My name is Matthew D. Ryan. I am a writer (at least for now). I have been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. This has influenced my outlook on many things. Most pronounced are my current views on religion which are either heretical or maybe even blasphemous depending upon what day of the week it is and how strongly I adhere to the beliefs in question. Oh well.

Politically, I tend to be conservative/libertarian in my leanings. Religiously, I was raised Catholic so I am most familiar with that particular species of Christianity.

My primary interest for this blog is to discuss God, my doubts and theories about Him, and Satan. Does either one exist? What do they want from you or me or whoever? To that end I have specified a number of topic headings for this site. Most of these discussions on God and Satan will go under the header of Religion. Occasionally, however, I will wish to discuss other topics such as Philosophy, Culture, and Politics. All of which are somewhat self-explanatory. Finally there are several other odd topics I wish to discuss. These include:

Crazy Rants: if my “illness” waxes, I may post something virtually incomprehensible. As this is part of my “illness,” I will include such as it is still a reflection of me. (Note: I really don’t believe I am mentally ill. That is just what my doctor tells me.)

Mental Illness: I’ve been diagnosed with a mental illness. Occasionally, I might wish to reflect upon it as a mental illness. Again, that will be duly designated as such.

The Alternate Theory: This is my strange, alternate theological theory that Satan is the universe.

Uncategorized: For all the rest.

So, to repeat, my primary reason for starting this blog is to discuss God, politics, and whatever else.. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post to this blog at least once a week, but I’m not convinced that I’ll be able to keep that schedule indefinitely. Also, if I’m feeling inspired, I may post more often.

Anyway, that’s what this site will be dedicated to.
